MPs face criminal charges too, argues PJ Thomas

Comment: Yes, they face... But MPs are Elected persons voted by people and they serve only a 5-year-term.
Mr.Tomas of CVC ,howerver big, is only a Govt.-servant appointed by the Govt. on Service -term & regulations. So it is futile and high-sounding for any 'Tomas' to claim the satus of an 'Elected candidate'.
If the MP is proved guilty or corrupt, the electing people have and should pull back and down their elected 'spoilt' leader. And the Rule shoud be changed accordingly, if reqired.
