OPONION :
Those who are for the name "bengal' seem to be adhered to colonial flavor like those who favoured 'TOLLY WOOD' -tyoe of heritage or so.
"Banga- Pradesh" - seems to rhyme in response to "Bangla Desh'" sort of sub-conscious spirit with political demarcation.
"Banga Bhumi" ,I think will be more appropriate from the standpoint of history, Culture,and inheritence.{Not de-linked from the "Root".
But without inner and total reform , it will sound as much 'West' or ...etc.
