OPINION : So who was the BIGGEST HOPE ; SAchin Tendulkar or Zaheer Khan?? And how to measure the fitness for any Ratna ?..................
To me CRICKET has ever been a Feudal, Colonial and Post Colonial Game which is neither played Globally but mostly by pre-independent Colonial Countries.
It is not even included in OLYMPIC Games.
My student -life -experience remind me that cricket -game in post -independent -India (1947-50s) caused huge loss and damage to India due to millions of Labour-hour loss,lapse in Office-attendance and distraction to Youth-force.And as a mission and ideal , i have never bought even one ticket or seen a match of Cricket. Since, CRICKET uderwent METAMORPHOSIS or De- Valuation- Change or degradation (?1980s onwards) and was known as a MATCH-Fixing -GAME .
Now SACHIN TEDULKAR has again turned CRICKET into a BIG COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISE and even with the possibility of a 'RATNA -Scope' and .................
even dumping the Vishwanath Anand behind or under ...?
And ...this is INDIA that was once 'Bharat' !!!
